V-Day Colors

blazer: kohls, blouse: walmart, skirt: target, flats: thrifted

burgundy tights & stripey flats
This is what I wore to our Valentine's Fellowship at church last week. We ate tons of lasagna and enjoyed watching a few of our couples play the 'Oldywed Game'. It was a total blast. I layered some burgundy and hot pink with a stretchy black pencil skirt (which is pulled all the way up under the girls so it isn't too long) and my go with everything striped flats. Add a topknot and dangly earrings and I felt both appropriate and festive. (My color seems to be off a bit, but I promise the tights and jacket are burgundy not brown. Bad Camera.)

Would you wear burgundy and hot pink together?

Pink and Black and Polka Dots

cardi: target, blouse & skirt: thrfted, heels: ross

witchy shoes
Happy Wednesday, lovelies! These shoes are seriously uncomfortable. Hubby calls them my witch shoes. And once upon a time I wore these or others just like them every day for eight hours a day with no problems. And now, I wear them for a few hours on Sunday morning, and I need a couple of heavy duty pain killers and a week for my feet to recover. Ouch. I am not sure I can bring myself to get rid of a classic black stiletto, but I am thinking they might go into storage and I need to find a more comfy pair of black dress shoes. Preferably a lower heeled wedge. I am very much afraid this means I am getting old. Older. Whatever. I have turned the corner where comfort is way more important than cuteness. Yikes.

On another note entirely, we (the hubby and I) have been on a classic movie kick the last couple of nights. We watched Charade. There are not words to describe how much I love that movie. So much fun. So much wit. So many plot turns. And of course Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Best movie ever. Then we watched How to Steal A Million, another classic Audrey Hepburn movie. I sound old here, but they just don't make movies like that anymore. I freely admit to loving those old classic movies. Up next on the to watch list: Funny Face. Fashion + Audrey Hepburn + Fred Astaire = pure movie awesomeness. Anyone else love these old films?

Payday Pretty: Cognac Leather Jacket

jacket: cato, blouse: old navy, skirt: thrifted, wedges: payless

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! I am sort of officially done with my shopping ban. ;) For the remainder of the year (with the exception of birthday or christmas money) I will be limiting myself to a $20 a week clothing budget (inspired by Alison's Payday Pretties). For this week my $20 went to this adorable ruffled faux leather jacket from Catos. On clearance for $17.49. It is the perfect shade of tan/cognac and it has ruffles. I know that I said last week that my leather jacket wasn't appropriate for church and honestly my black one is much more casual, but this baby. It. has. ruffles. Obviously the ruffles make it church appropriate. ;)

Don't forget to check out my Firmoo glasses giveaway! You can win $20 to buy glasses or sunglasses from Firmoo.com.

Tweed & Tights

Happy Monday, lovelies! We had a drastic weather change this weekend (from 80 to 40 in a few hours) so tights were definitely called for on Sunday! ;) I pulled out my tweed jacket from seven or so years ago and paired it with some yellow and black for an outfit that was warm and chic. I was raised in such a way that it has to be below freezing for me to feel comfortable wearing pants to church on Sunday mornings so tights are a big player in my cool weather wardrobe. I wish these showed up better as they have a cool geometrical pattern to them. When I am wearing a black skirt and black boots I like my tights to have a little texture to them. :) They also entertain the kiddo. ;)
