Where Are You, Spring?!

cardi: cato, blouse: old navy, jeans: walmart, flats: target

pretty floral necklace

pretty floral flats

Happy Friday! Here is the most colorful possible outfit I could wear and still be warm. I am so tired of my winter clothes and so ready for spring. And it isn't here. Ugh.

On a happier note I seriously love these espadrille flats from Target. They are insanely comfortable and super super cute. I want the red poka dot pair too.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Thrifty Thursday: Pink Jeans

I am on the hunt for a pair of pink jeans for spring. I am looking for the perfect pastel petal pink. (I already own brilliantly hot pink pants!)
So I did a search around the internets and here is what I came up with.

First up these from JCPenney. Very pretty, love the length. However I am looking for more of a petal pink than coral. But these are really cute at a pretty decent price.
a.n.a. neon coral ankle zip jeans $20

And these are just about the perfect color (and price), but I am not totally sure about the glittery thing. I am not wild about glittery clothing since it tends to leave glitter every freaking where!

Almost Famous glitter skinny jeans $10

Forever 21 has a couple of options, these are not jeans, but are really pretty. And the price is right. However I have never bought (or even tried on) pants from Forever 21 and am not sure I can fit in them. :)

Twill Skinny Pants $15.80

And these which are jeans. They are listed as neon coral, but look more pink to me.

Colored Skinny Jeans $19.80

Then there are these metallic pretties from Target. Once again. I like them, but am not sure about metallic pants.

Mossimo metallic coated skinny denim $13.98

There are a cute pair at Cato (they don't have an online store), but they are a faint snakeskin print. Although it is very subtle, it is there. I can't decide whether that works for me or not. ;)

What do you think? Do you have or want pink jeans?

Weight Watching Wednesday: Update

Happy Wednesday, friends. As promised, here is my update on my two week boot camp. I lost about 10 pounds overall. Which was pretty good for two weeks especially considering I got sick, the kiddo got sick, the hubby got sick and the the kiddo got sick again. It was a rough couple of weeks. Unfortunately I have been pigging out and not exercising because of almost two weeks worth of Spring Break. However this week it is back to work with a more workable long term plan. Because as nice as it is to lose 10 pounds in two weeks, it really isn't a great way to do things.

My Exercise Plan going forward:
Cardio 3x per week using one of my many exercise dvds. I am easily bored. And each of these dvds has three to four different dance options of 10 - 15 minutes each allowing me to pick and choose what I feel up to each day.

I own the first two and really enjoy them. I will be looking to add the second two to my collection as I am able.

I really don't like exercising, but do enjoy dancing so these are right up my alley and I do enjoy them.

I will be continuing with the morning yoga and evening stretches as they were really helping keep the stiffness and soreness at bay.

And as we all know cardio isn't enough, we have to build muscles too. So. I am leaning toward trying out the ballet bootcamp exercises.

And that's it for now.

Do you enjoy exercising? What kind?

Tasty Tuesday: Strawberry Smoothie

Today's recipe (and as usual I use the word very loosely) is what has become my go to smoothie recipe. It has the perfect frosty texture, yummy strawberry taste and plenty of protein and fiber to keep me full.

Ingredients:
oats - about 1/3 to 1/2 cup
plain greek yogurt - about 1/3 cup
unsweetened coconut milk - about 1/2 cup
honey - about 1 teaspoon
1 small orange or 1/2 full size orange
5 - 7 frozen strawberries
(sometimes I'll add a handful of spinach for extra oomph)

I have a small single serving blender, so the order I put stuff in is really important. If you have a normal blender you can just throw it all in there and blend until smooth.

I have found the best results by putting in the oats first, then adding the milk, yogurt, honey and orange and blending until smooth. Finally I add the frozen strawberries a few at a time until the smoothie is perfectly pink and frosty. Yum.

As you can see this 'recipe' makes a pretty decent size smoothie. And I have to admit I am addicted.

Are you a smoothie fan? What is your favorite type of smoothie?

Sunday Style: Lace and Velvet

hubby walked in and cracked me up ;)

blazer: kohls(old), dress: cato, pumps: target

Happy Monday, lovelies. Sorry for the blog silence last week. Between the nasty weather, spring break and frequent migraines I haven't been feeling up to blogging lately. I am also being driven insane by nasty spam comments. I have been getting a bunch of them everyday and they are yucky. I can live with a little spam for normal stuff, but these are grossing me out. Anyway. I am going to have to figure something out. I may have to go back to Disqus because I really don't want to turn on the horrible comment verification. So. If you have any advice to offer, I would appreciate it.

Anyway, about the clothes. Nope, nada. I wore this to church. That's it.

Have a great week!

Work it Wednesday: Mint Jeggings

My new mint jeggings from Walmart. These things are crazy comfy and I wish I had them in every color. Seriously. Also, just so you know, this is pretty much three outfit posts in one. Sorry about that. ;)

First up, burgundy and mint.  And of course my fabulous stripey flats.
sweater & flats: thrifted, leggings: walmart

(I am not pregnant, promise. The wind was blowing.)

And no full outfit photo on this one, but I paired my striped tunic with my cozy black cardi and polka dot flats. Have you noticed that I pretty much always wear these flats with stripes? Hmmmm.
tunic, flats, leggings: walmart, cardi: cato
And finally more stripes with teal and snakeprint shoes. This is my least favorite because my tops aren't quite as long as I like when wearing leggings. My rear is covered, but I like the longer tops better.

jacket: cato, blouse: tjmaxx, leggings: walmart, flats: target

Tasty Tuesday: Easy Yummy Chicken

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I'm not really doing a recipe today because this chicken dish is so easy you need no recipe. Seriously.
source
You take four chicken breasts (or thighs or tenderloins or whatever), put them in the dish, add a couple cans of drained green beans to one side and chopped up potatoes on the other (the smaller you chop the potatoes the more tender they'll get). Sprinkle a packet of italian or garlic/herb dressing mix over top then pour on a melted stick of butter. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for an hour. Yummy. Easy. Done.

I usually make a batch of these biscuits to go with. Very tasty and buttery. Yep, this meal is like butter heaven. ;)

Sunday Style: Navy & Hot Pink

sweater: old navy, skirt: cato, pumps: payless

pretty pink pearl bubbles from Cato

Happy Monday, my friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. We did a little shopping and enjoyed a lazy Saturday. Then we got poured on. Holy cow it rained buckets on us. Because the temps were in the low 60's I though I could get away without a jacket. Silly me. I froze. Anywho. Two thoughts before I go. One my two week bootcamp is working (even though I've been a bit of a slacker this week.) And two this skirt is maybe a teensy bit too tight for church. On the other hand there is pretty much no hiding curves like these without wearing a muumuu. So. Also, I succumbed to another bubble necklace. But, y'all. It is pink pearl. How could I not?

Monochromatic with stripes & bubbles

cardi & flats: thrifted, tee: forever 21, pants: walmart

So, not much to say about this outfit except that it is fabulously comfy and with the stripes and bubble necklace trendy enough to work. And y'all these velour pants are so comfy and warm and soft. They are old lady pants, but I don't care.

Would you wear velour old lady pants?

Chambray, Boots & Fur

vest & cardi: cato, tunic: target, jeggings: walmart, boots: payless

yep, I'm wearing the owl earrings again

comfy cozy boots

I am not entirely certain I love this look. It was warm and comfortable. But there was rather a lot going on. I think I might have liked it better without the vest. The vest over the cardi is just too much. Ah well. You live and learn. ;)

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!
